It won’t be long before the days are cooler, the nights are made for snuggling and the leaves begin to change. These are all signs that even colder weather is on the way but this transition time of year brings color and wonder that my family and I love. We take our dog, Rocky, and a picnic and head out to see what nature has to display on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a perfect place to start but we have been known to stray even further, even to West Virginia to see what this states scenery had to offer. Rocky gets his own sandwich for lunch when we stop to eat. Yes, he is a little spoiled. Even with our diet we can still enjoy a picnic lunch with a few moderations. It is a great day for us and time to talk, be together and away from what occupies our time during the week.
