So, What Is English Smocking?

So, What Is English Smocking?

Especially For Ewe spends a lot of time posting about English Smocking but what is English smocking?  English smocking is a traditional embroidery technique that gathers fabric together into tight pleats so that it can stretch and return to its gathered shape. It is often used as a form of decoration on a garment with either pictures or a geometric design creating a pattern on the fabric.  Especially For Ewe will be sharing more interesting facts about smocking in later blogs so stay tuned.

Let me introduce this week's special!!!

Old Fashioned Clothespin Angels

These old-fashioned clothes pin ornaments recall a simpler time for so many people.  The angels are either all white angels or white with a red skirt.  The wings on both colors are white with white halos.  These angels are crochet with #10 crochet thread and then constructed over an clothespin.  The halos are starched to help hold their shape.   Perfect for any angel lover, for your tree or for a package top for a special person this Christmas.

$3.00 each or three for 9.00 your choice of colors
