A new month is here. June suggests summer vacations at the lake or the ocean, family trips to amusement parks, and short trips for the day to places close to you. Since Michael and I are living in a new area, we are looking forward to doing some exploring in this new area. We do have a couple of longer trips in the planning stages but mostly we like to go somewhere close and Bogey, our dog, just loves to ride anywhere. Places on our must do list include the D-Day memorial in Bedford, Historical Appomattox Court House, a local ice cream shop that is staffed with mentally challenged adults, and more ballgames at the Salem Red Sox Park.
The game we attended on Thursday was rained out after the 5th inning but what we did see of the game was great.
Since craft shows in this local area tend to be word of mouth, I found out about a Lavendar festival at the Evergreen Lavender Farm in Appomattox this week and am considering adding this June show to next year’s shows since they are already full for this year.
I have been looking for shows during the summer months to add to my list. Finding shows that fit you and what you sell can be a challenge.
Speaking of challenges. I have been challenged to have 6 “must have”
pictures for my brand and business with 6 different titles. As I start assembling this project, I will be sharing each of the 6 categories with you. The first category is My Source of Inspiration. This one seemed a little easier for me to answer. Photography is something that I struggle with and am learning what works and what does not work.
. But here is what I am talking about on the subject inspiration. I have an idea in my head and then look for the perfect pattern, material and what smocking should go on that material. The same thing applies to customers. They have something specific they want for their little ones and especially grand little ones. We get together and give that idea a design and fabric to make the finished product. So, one of my sources of inspiration is the original idea in my head becoming someone wearing that was envisioned.
What are your sources of inspiration?
The sewing room and the studio are both busy. Cricut is making price labels, bag tags and other goodies while the sewing machines are working on sunflowers, 2 dresses that are nearly ready for pictures and a gingham romper for either little girls or little boys. Look for pictures of these new products and what goes on in both of these rooms coming very soon.
Angels are still being created not only for the Etsy shop but also for craft shows. You can never have too many angels. Here are some brand-new angels recently added to Etsy.
