Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend is upon us.  For most families this is the time to barbeque in your back yard, enjoy having friends and family visit and share time with you or to get away for the weekend to someplace different.  While our plans include barbequing and the first use of our hot tub, my heart goes out to those that remember this weekend for a different reason.  There is an empty seat at the table, an empty chair in the room and an empty space in their heart.  Because you remember, spend some of your free time remembering those that gave everything for Americans to have the freedoms that they enjoy.

While rest and relaxation is great and we are looking forward to our own plans, there is still work to do, goals to accomplish and craft shows coming very soon.  Both the studio and the sewing room are getting very busy getting ready for the Sunflower Festival in September.  This is a new show for me over two weekends involving three days the first weekend and two the second.  While I am only participating in the first weekend, there is a lot to get ready.

New dresses involving sunflowers in some ways are smocked and on the sewing machines, both the straight stitch and the serger.  I am making more sunflower mug rugs as well as new angels, and other goodies that are still in the thought process and not in the sewing process.  I have 3 new smocking patterns I am anxious to try and will add more products with these patterns.  There are new outfits for little boys in the works as well.
