July is in full swing with the heat and humidity traveling along with it and I don’t want to forget the occasional thunderstorm. Bogey, Leopard and Tiggr’ are spending a lot of their time sprawled out on furniture sleeping and trying to stay cool in the air-conditioned house. Yes, they are very spoiled unless there is a thunderstorm. Bogey and Tiggr’ are not fans of storms. Tiggr’ goes to hide and Bogey tries to get as close to the people as he can. Even with the occasional storm, life still goes on around them and they seem to take it all in stride.
My time is split between the studio working on labeling inventory for festivals as well as printing labels, coupons, and everything else that needs to be done right now. The rest of the available time I spend in the sewing room working on dresses and working with a new embroidery machine card. This card has some country things and some Christmas things. More on results from this card coming soon but I am contemplating snowmen mug rugs for the fall shows. What do you think of this first run through?
Most evenings I am in the living room with all three animals and Michael giving us time to talk about his day and what is going on while I work on smocking, crocheting, sewing, finishing items or whatever needs completing.
There are new clothespin angels going upstairs that have been starched and ironed and will get their ribbon, hangers and get labeled and packed.
The first of the portrait collar dresses is nearly done. What do you think? This dress is in size 6. There is a second one that is close behind in completion.
There are two sheep dresses that are being completed as well as a smocked pumpkin jumper and another sunflower dress about ready to be started.
Fall Craft Show season is coming quickly. It seems that there are sunflower projects everywhere in our house preparing for the Beaver Dam Farms Sunflower Festival. What other shows will Especially For Ewe be attending so you can Save The Date?
Beaver Dam Sunflower Festival in Buchanan Virginia with a tentative date of September 9-10. I received confirmation on May 1 that I have been accepted for the Sunflower Festival. This is a new show for Especially For Ewe and I am so excited to be a part of the fun. The final date of the festival depends on when the sunflowers are in bloom. After all, that is what we are there for. There are a lot of new sunflower themed products coming to be debuted at this show. I will announce the dates and times when I have that information.
Amherst Apple Harvest Festival in Amherst, Virginia on October 15 and 16.
Theresa’s Annual Christmas Bazaar in Farmville is scheduled for November 4 and 5
GFWC Bedford Woman’s Club, Bedford- November 19th 9am-4pm
