Christmas Must Be Coming!!!

Posted by Paula Geake on

There is no doubt at any retail store or even grocery store that the holiday season is coming.  Are you ready?  While the Christmas season is being advertised in most places, let’s not forget Thanksgiving.  This is and has always been one of my favorite holidays.  Not just for the food but for the coming together and remembering all that we have to be thankful for.  Michael and I have so much to be thankful for this year beginning with our new residence.  When we got married, we were living in an apartment.  There were 5 of us including 2 cats and a boxer but we managed while Michael was searching for a job matching his skills.  Well, the job has been given to us as well as this house that we are making it into our home.  The Saturday before we were to move to Roanoke, our boxer, Rocky, crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  We both wish our boxer could be here with us, the back yard was chosen specifically for him.  He is in our hearts even though he is not with us.  There are a lot of adjustments going on in our lives right now but we both feel so blessed.

Now, on to new business.  Have you been to www.especiallyforewe2.com lately?  The first page greets you with the many Christmas dresses and rompers that are on sale right now.  Do you have a favorite?  Make sure to grab it before it is gone.  These special prices last at least until Cyber Monday November 29 with free shipping available until December 10.  Shopping on line makes things easier and I ship your order to your door or to someone else’s door free until December 10.  What could be easier?

Not sure what size, style, or color?  How about a gift certificate with the gift certificate number sent directly to the recipient when the order is placed?  The gift card are in amounts of $25.00 and $50.00.

Smocking 101

Part III

What is traditional smocking?

Smocking is a traditional embroidery technique that gathers fabric together into tight pleats so that it can stretch and return to its gathered shape. It is often used as a form of decoration on a garment, as the gathering of the material and stitches can be formulated to create patterns.

Is there any doubt in your mind that I am leaning toward crazy?  Just ask my husband.    Moving, adding studio hours, and adding new product and now a new show has been added.  We just found out about this show, and it looks like a keeper.  Come visit the vendors at the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex of Chatham, Virginia.  The show is Saturday November 27. The Saturday after thanksgiving, from 8 am-2 pm

The ODAC is proud to be partnering with Chatham First, a non-profit club that works to improve the quality of life in our area. This partnership will include a weeklong Christmas in Historic Chatham celebration with the Christmas Bazaar being the kick-off!

The Christmas Bazaar is held in the indoor arena of the complex!

FREE ADMISSION!
